The developer behind the Goods Yard development in Bishop’s Stortford is inviting residents to have their say as part of its ongoing engagement with the community.

Solum, a partnership between Network Rail and Kier Property, received planning permission for the £200m project in 2018. Since then, is has delivered a new bus route connecting Station Road and Dane Street to London Road, constructed a multi-storey car park and provided taxi/drop off bays and public realm improvements. The first phase of residential apartments, being built by Bellway, are nearing completion with properties already available for purchase and selling well.

A revised masterplan for the wider site was approved by East Herts District Council in February 2022, and Solum will now be consulting on the next phase of development that will provide:

• A further 400 new homes, providing a mix of housing including custom build homes
• A second station car parking facility
• Better pedestrian and cycle links from the station to the town centre and the river
• A new riverside walk
• Landscaped open space

To update residents on the progress of the project, Solum have announced they will be holding:

• A Community webinar 6-7pm, Wednesday 4th May 2022

“We wish to update people on these latest plans and answer any questions they may have about the revised scheme.
