Bishop’s Stortford Goods Yard scheme improvements - Residents invited to have their say at online event
Residents in Bishop’s Stortford are being asked for their views about modifications being proposed to improve the Goods Yard development.
The £200m project by Solum, a partnership between Network Rail and Kier Property, received planning permission in 2018.
Next week, the developer is giving people a chance to review some changes to the scheme and ask any questions they might have.
More than 300 new homes are currently being built by Bellway adjacent to the town’s railway station as part of the first phase of the development with around another 400 to follow.
An online webinar event for Bishop’s Stortford residents and station users is being held at 6.30pm on Thursday, 28th October 2021 where people are encouraged to have their say.
Simon Dunlop, senior development manager at Solum said:
“The revised scheme will deliver improved accessibility, enhanced communal landscaping and a wider choice of properties for people to buy including affordable homes. A hotel also remains part of our plans and we are continuing to look for an operator.
“We believe the improvements deliver more high-quality housing, commercial and retail space set within an attractive riverside environment.
“We consider the proposed changes will make the Goods Yard more attractive for people of all ages who will want to be part of this new vibrant community.”
The Goods Yard is being developed in several phases.
